Identity
Introducing myself to the world as Naomi Maudé — founder and creative director of Maudeatelier.
Maudé was born from a lifelong fascination with the relationship between structure and creativity. The architectural side of art and design has always been a source of inspiration, the precision, discipline, and intention behind the way something is built. In balance, there has always been an equal captivation with abstraction and the beauty of the unexpected. I have often described this tension as imperfectly perfect, the meeting point between what is structured and what is instinctive.
An appreciation for art has been present for as long as I can remember, and over time that fascination naturally found its expression through garment design. What drew me to fashion was not only the design of clothing itself, but its ability to transform and enhance the individual who wears it.
Clothing exists in conversation with the body. The structure, the fit, the movement, and even the spaces left untouched all contribute to a garment's presence. True design does not overpower beauty, it frames it. A thoughtfully constructed piece should complement the individual, allowing their confidence, character, and identity to take shape through what they wear.
For Maudé, luxury is found in thoughtfulness, in the quality of fabric, the precision of a cut, and the quiet confidence of wearing something that feels effortless. Each piece is designed to balance abstraction with wearability, creating garments that feel both sculptural and natural with the movement of the body.
This philosophy became the foundation of Maudé; a house built upon the balance of precision and abstraction, where minimalism is approached with intention and every detail serves a purpose.
Thank you for being here, and becoming part of the world of Maudé.
